Cockroaches thrive in the Sunshine Coast’s subtropical weather. The combination of humidity, long summers, warm nights and coastal breezes creates the perfect breeding conditions. In suburbs like Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Kawana and Mountain Creek, we often see cockroach problems increase after rain or during hot stretches. From Urban Units to Beach Houses
German cockroaches are especially common in units around Alexandra Headland, Birtinya, Brightwater and Sippy Downs, usually brought home in cardboard boxes, appliances or grocery bags. For German cockroaches, we use targeted gel placements designed to reach deep into their harbourage spots. For larger species, we apply safe internal treatments around skirting boards, cracks, pipes and plumbing lines. We use products suited to our humid coastal climate so they keep working longer.
3. External treatment for long term control
Most cockroach problems start outside. We treat garden areas, pathways, weep holes, bins, sheds and common harbourage points. In areas like Buderim, Battery Hill, Currimundi, Wurtulla, Golden Beach and Little Mountain, we see lots of outdoor breeding areas, so treating outside is essential.
4. Follow up if needed
German cockroaches can breed fast. For heavy infestations, we may recommend a follow up visit. All customers get a 6 month service warranty, so if they come back, we do too. Same day service is usually available if you call early.

How long does a cockroach treatment last on the Sunshine Coast?
Most households get 6 to 12 months of protection. Humidity and rain, especially around Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Mountain Creek, can shorten this which is why we include a 6 month warranty.
Is it safe for my kids and pets?
Yes. Our gels and treatments are used safely in homes with babies, pets and people with allergies. We’ll advise if any short wait time is needed, but it’s usually fine to stay home.
Can you come today?
Often yes. We offer same day service when our schedule allows, especially for German cockroaches since they spread quickly.
Why don’t supermarket sprays work?
Surface sprays only kill the ones you see. German cockroaches hide deep inside appliances and wall cavities. Hardware store products can scatter them, making the problem worse.
How often should I get cockroach treatment?
Most homes only need an annual treatment. Units in Sippy Downs, Birtinya and Maroochydore with shared walls often need more frequent work.
What’s the difference between German cockroaches and the big cockroaches?
German roaches are small, fast breeders and usually live inside kitchens and warm appliances. Larger roaches (American and Australian) live mostly outdoors and sneak inside at night.
Why do I see more cockroaches after treatment?
Completely normal for a few days. The treatment disrupts their behaviour and pushes them out of hiding before they die off.
